Fees and funding
When studying a college course, you may be entitled to extra financial support.
If you're studying your first Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, there's a good chance that you won't have to pay any course fees. You could also access further funding to help you with the the cost of books, clothing, equipment, travel and more.
What will my course cost?
Whether you'll need to cover the cost of your tuition depends on two things:
- your age, and
- what previous qualifications you've studied for.
There are no course fees if you're aged under 19 on 31 August in the year you start your course.
You may be eligible for free tuition. You may still need to pay the registration fee applicable for your course.
If you want to apply for another qualification, you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan. These are available from the UK government, and are for covering the cost of your tuition. It's easy to apply. Your household income isn't taken into account, and there's no credit check. You won't have to pay anything back until your income is over £25,000.
Additional financial support
We have a bursary fund to help with the costs of your study. This includes things like books, clothing, equipment and travel. You don't have to repay a bursary.
To be eligible, there are some conditions that you — or your parents or guardians — need to meet. The funds are limited, and we award them to those in the greatest financial need. Contact us using the details below to request more information and to apply.
