LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is an online library that teaches the latest software tools and skills through high-quality instructional videos taught by recognised industry experts.

All students and staff at Nottingham Trent University have full, free, unlimited access to all the online tutorials in the library. You can access LinkedIn Learning via Library One Search

Use LinkedIn Learning to learn new skills as part of your academic, vocational and personal interests.

eResources (books, journals and databases)

NTU Library provides access to over 777,000 eBooks and over 200,000 eJournals. The majority of eBooks and eJournals can be accessed from on and off campus and can be used to support your online learning.

The starting point for locating resources is Library OneSearch, your gateway to NTU Library’s eBooks, databases, eJournals, NTU research and much more.

You will find guidance available in the eBooks section of NOW Help to using different eBook platforms and troubleshooting any difficulties in accessing eBooks from off campus.

From Library OneSearch you can also manage your library account, save your searches and set up alerts.  Further guidance is available via NOW Help.  Have a look at the Library OneSearch: a guide for students.

Academic Skills Support

Studying for your degree can be challenging and exciting as you discover new knowledge and develop new skills, such as critical thinking. However, there are also times when you may feel outside your comfort zone and in need of some help and advice.

The Learning and Teaching Team provides access to a wide range of academic skills support including: referencing; finding subject information; study skills; academic writing; maths and statistics.

You can book a one-to-one appointment to meet online with a member of staff between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday via our booking form at: librarybookings.ntu.ac.uk

Microsoft Teams

Need help with using Teams? Download the desktop app and sign in using your NTU username and password. Use a laptop or PC to attend your Teams meeting.

Lunchtime Learning Webinars

Discover more and pick up some useful hints and tips on how to approach your studies and develop your skills.  Our webinars cover a wide variety of topics, including referencing, critical thinking, punctuation, as well as dealing with maths and stats.

Happening every weekday through term, over the lunchtime period via Microsoft Teams, our webinars are live, practical, and give you the opportunity to try and to ask things. Check our schedule to see what’s on, and book your place online.

You can also access online courses via LinkedIn learning that cover a wide range of topics from professional skills and using specific software, through to time management and research skills.

Do you have a specific question or problem that you're struggling with? Book an appointment for an online one-to-one conversation.

We can provide advice on the best way to approach your work and suggest new ways of thinking about your assignments. You can find help with your study and research questions by making an appointment to talk with a member of the Learning and Teaching Team, who can give guidance on how to approach studying, academic writing, and maths and stats.

We want you to develop effective learning strategies, to underpin the skills you will use during your studies at University, and beyond.

LinkedIn Learning

Access LinkedIn learning courses that provide a range of audio and video tutorials on a range of topics from specific software to research skills.

Language Skills Support

Need help with developing your language skills? the Learning and Teaching Team can offer support via 1-1's via our online Skype appointment system: librarybookings.ntu.ac.uk

Nottingham Institute of Languages and Intercultural Communication also offers many services to help you develop your language skills.
